Life After Baseball

Buck Weaver dedicated his life to returning to Major League Baseball and continued to make appeals to Judge Landis until his death in 1956.

Fred McMullin worked in the office of the U.S Marshall in Los Angeles until his death in 1952.

Lefty Williams continued to play baseball, operated a pool hall and had his own garden nursery until he died in 1954.

Happy Felsch continued to play baseball, ran a tavern and a grocery store and became a crane operator.  He died in 1964.

Eddie Cicotte worked as a paymaster for Ford until his death in 1969.

Chick Gandil continued to play ball after the scandal and then became a plumber. He died in 1970.

Swede Risburg continued to play ball after the scandal and operated a dairy farm. Risburg was the last Black Sox player to die in 1975.
