The Commissioner of Baseball, Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis

The day after the jury's verdict, the Commissioner of Baseball, Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis Despite released a statement based on the scandal that had occurred. "Regardless of the verdict of jurors, no player who throws a ballgame, no player that undertakes or promises to throw a ballgame, no player that sits in conference with a bunch of crooked players and gamblers where the ways and means of throwing a game are discussed and does not promptly tell his club about it, will ever play professional baseball"(Linder, 2010).

Banned from Professional Baseball were Eddie Cicotte, Oscar "Happy" Felsch, Arnold "Chick" Gandil, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, Fred McMullin, Charles "Swede" Risberg, George "Buck" Weaver and Claude "Lefty" Williams.

Fans of Joe Jackson believed he should not have been banned from professional baseball and continue to protest today that his ban from baseball be lifted in order to become eligible for Baseballs Hall of Fame.
