The Black Sox Scandal took place during the 1919 World Series, where the Chicago White Sox faced the Cincinnati Reds. Eight players on the White Sox team were banned for life from professional baseball for conspiring with gamblers to intentionally lose The World Series games giving the World Series Champions title to the Cincinnati Reds.
